I use sublime text on the mac for my coding and professional purposes. Moving to plaintext->pandoc workflow was a lifesaver for me.

// @kdfrawg

Can't imagine going back to it on a laptop/desktop. On a server, however, all the bases still belong to debian, there's really nothing like it.

started using fish today. Found a nice configuration for git integration too. Really seems to be compatible with my shell headspace ?

Re Completion in Fish: I rely (to an unhealthy degree) on zsh's tab-selection, whereby the possible tab-completions are themselves selectable. Does fish offer a similar flow?
The other thing I 'need' zsh for is git-status indication in the prompt. My workflow (professional and hobbyist) relies on git flows, and that's vital for me.
Sorry to noodle at you like this, but i'm not in the mood for RTFMing today ?

Tab completion alone would be the killer zsh feature for me. Having to use bash in some remote machines kills me,

//

was convinced it was hard, so stuck with bash for decades. A friend then showed me how much zsh had to offer, it was trivial to get up and running. Love me zsh now…

//

pfffffft. I've a major problem with the 'emacs or vim' nonsense. They're like mutt: utterly impenetrable and a learning curve from hell. Give me sublime text, or nano/micro on console.

Mazel tov!
