@phoneboy Chag Sameach to you & yours.
@matigo I don't know why it wouldn't. Too many years slaving away at the pit head of ascii I think.
@matigo oh, quite. I forgot the coup against Ngô Đình Diệm in 73, and the financing of a little known Maoist in Cambodia to make trouble for the Vietnamese in the late 1970s. That ended well, albeit I don't think Pol Pot's financiers ever intended him to take over the country, so perhaps doesn't count.

@matigo Not enough warning & failure to understand role is usually step 1 in seeking to dismiss or constructively dismiss a woman who's taken maternity leave. I deal with this all the time.
@matigo do you mean 'successful' in the Regime Change, or in the regime lasted & was decent?
If the former: Samoa in 1887, Hawaii in 1893, Puerto Rico & Cuba soon after, then the Phillipines, Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Things went quiet until the 40s, but Korea, Syria(!) Iran & Lebanon, with a CIA coup in Guatemala between them. Then the three biggies: Dom Republic, Brazil & Chile. Then the ones everyone knows about: Afghan war, Contras, Grenada & Panama.
Which of those new regimes were humanitarian? Um… Hawaii, if you were white & wealthy?
